Changes Needed To Compulsory Warning Notices
Part of the NCCP Act (2009) requires certain warning notices to be made prominent and noticable to consumers in signage and documents provided by lenders. A short time ago NCPA was notified by ASIC that they had made a Class Order with required changes to these ntoices.
The changes were needed to overcome the difficulty which has been created by the disconnection of the telephone number that Centrelink had previously used for recipients to seek advance payments. We first advised ASIC of this issue in mid-December and the Class Order in response to this appears to have been made today. A copy of the document as delivered to us by ASIC is attached.
